Saber / Conocer

Yo sé, Tú sabes, Él/Ella/Usted sabe, Nosotros/as sabemos, Vosotros/as sabéis, Ellos/as,Ustedes saben.

• Saber is used to express knowledge of a fact or information 🤓: 

Sé la respuesta / No sé la respuesta. ( I know/ don't know the answer)
Sé mucho sobre literatura inglesa. (I know a lot about English literature)
¿Sabes dónde hay una farmacia? (Do you know where is a  pharmacy?)
¿Sabes qué película  ganó más Goyas el año pasado?  (Do you know which film won the most Goya awards last year?)
¿Sabes cuáles son los mejores libros para aprender historia de España? (Do you know which are the best books to learn about the history of Spain?)
¿Sabes quién vino ayer a casa? (Do you know who came to the house yesterday?)
Mario es muy listo. Sabe mucho. Sabe más que el hambre.

• Also when you know something by heart (saberse de memoria)
  
  No me sé la letra de la canción. ( I know the lyrics of the song by  heart)
  Me sé todas las capitales del mundo (I know all the capitals of the world by heart)
  ¿Te sabes la tabla de multiplicar? - Sí, me la sé de memoria.
  
  

• Saber followed by an infinitive is also used to express habilites, or skills.
  
  Sé conducir / No sé conducir ( I can/ can't drive)
  Sé tocar la guitarra / No sé tocar la guitarra ( I can play the guitar)
  ¿Sabes jugar al tenis? (Can you play tennis?)
  
  EXPRESIONES CON "SABER"
  - ¿Sabes qué? (Do you know what?)
  - ¡Quién sabe! (Who knows!)
  - No se sabe (Nobody knows. It is uncertain)
  - ¡Vete a saber! (no tengo ni idea) (Beats me!)
  - No te acostarás sin saber una cosa más.
  - Más sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo.

Yo conozco, Tú conoces, Él/Ella/Usted conoce, Nosotros/as conocemos, Vosotros/as conocéis, Ellos/as,Ustedes conocen.

• Conocer is used when talking about people you are familiar with.
  Yo conozco a David (I know David)
  ¿Conoces a David?

• Conocer is also used to express familiarity with a place.
  ¿Conoces Tenerife? (Are you familiar with Tenerife or Have you been to Tenerife?
  ¿Conoces el restaurante "Casa Antonio"? - Qué va. ¿Es bueno?

• Conocer is also mean "to meet" somebody for the first time.
  El sábado pasado conocí al vecino nuevo (I met the new neighbor last Saturday)
  Ella y yo nos conocimos en Ibiza.
